Club Messages

The Newark Rod & Gun Club is looking for shooters for this summer’s 4 County Skeet League. We need to post a minimum of 5 scores (shooters) at each shoot. The winter version of this (Snowball Skeet League) saw dwindling numbers of shooters for our team, and we came dangerously close to forfeiting on a couple of occasions. If you are a skeet shooter, please consider shooting the league this summer for the club. Just show up to the first shoot you can make and sign up for Newark.

League Schedule (2026):

Branchport – May 16–17;
South Seneca June 13–14;
MacDougal June 20–2;
Victor July 11–12;
Red Creek August 8–9;
Newark August 15–16;
North Seneca – September 12–13;
Buckhorn – September 19–20;
Buckhorn Shoot-off – October 17–18.

*Shoot-off: shoot against others with similar season scores for prize money. Must make 6 shoots to be eligible. Make-ups and shoot-aheads are allowed (3 max per season). Juniors can shoot for free via the Johnson Youth Fund. Details at the club.

The Newark Open

(July 24th-26th)

The Newark Open skeet shoot has only a few open spots left. If you are interested in competing, please Contact Craig Parsons at parsons.craig01@gmail.com

If you or your business would be interested in purchasing an ad ($100) for the Kolar/Newark Open please contact parsons.craig01@gmail.com. We will create a poly banner with your ad copy and display it during the shoot and at the club until next spring.

The Newark open is a great event which ranked #37 on the top 100 shoots list last year. It includes all main events including Doubles, 12 gauge, 20 gauge, 28 gauge, and the .410 gauge events. We hope to see you there!

Members/volunteers:

We'd greatly appreciate any help with refereeing, filling houses, and/or cleaning up after the event.

Attention Pistol/Rifle shooters!

There is currently an open position on the Board of Directors, and we would especially like to add a pistol or rifle shooter to the board. Serving on the board is a great way to get involved with the club, share ideas for improving the ranges, and help represent the interests of our rifle and pistol members.

The Board of Directors meets at 7:00 PM on the third Wednesday of each month to discuss club activities, upcoming projects, member concerns, and new ideas for the future of the club.
